I have been taking photos since I was 15 years old, so I am relatively new at this… Well, not really, but it makes me sound a bit old if I say that I’ve been taking photos for 25 years – eek!!! I never stop learning though. And over the years, I’ve had experience at photographing many genres – from school photos, to wedding photos, to nude photos. And after much contemplation, I have decided to open my studio to specialise in what I like to refer to as ‘Contemporary Portraiture of Women’ (aka ‘Glamour’).
To make a person feel good about themselves is a passion of mine. If I can make a person feel beautiful, it brightens their smile, their day, and their soul. It is immediate. It is long lasting. Some people decorate their houses with the images I take of them. Some keep their folio box in a drawer to look at when they need a boost. And for those of you who entrust me to take images of you – my heart warms at knowing that when you are 80 years old and looking at the photos – you will smile at how amazing you look right now.
Coming to me for a photoshoot is not something that I take lightly. I understand that the idea of coming for a photoshoot makes many people feel vulnerable, unsure, or possibly even a little vain. But there is one thing that I want to assure you – you have nothing to lose. I have had clients burst into tears during photoshoots because of how amazing they look. I have seen childrens faces sparkle with awe at the photos of their mum that I have taken. I know clients who have been having a hard time, physically or mentally, who gain strength from looking back upon the images that I captured of them. That keeps me passionate about what I do.
So my advice to you is this: Don’t be shy. You will feel beautiful. You will look beautiful. You will have stunning photos taken of you. Do it for yourself, your partner, your parents, or your children. Take a chance and do it. Trust me – you will be happy that you did.
